RE “ON abortion, Coakley’s stance is principled but self-defeating’’ (Editorial, Nov. 10): Listen up, ladies. I just want to make sure that you know you have been put in your place. The only citizens who are being asked to compromise their coverage for the greater good of health reform are, you guessed it, women. The Globe editorial board and the US House of Representatives don’t like it, but they ask our understanding. After all, life is full of compromises, and women have so much more experience with self-sacrifice. Sort of like the good mother who goes without a winter coat so that the kids won’t be disappointed Christmas morning. Myself, I am heading to the kitchen to take off my shoes.
