KEVIN CULLEN’S column “When actions trump words’’ (Metro, Nov. 16) discusses a regrettable health care insurance claim problem faced by two former Hyatt employees. Our insurance provider has confirmed that a total of four claims were incorrectly denied due to an administrative error it made. The errors have been corrected and the claims will be covered.
As soon as Hyatt was made aware of the problem, we corrected it immediately and notified our benefits vendor. If any of our former associates have had similar issues with their health care coverage or insurance provider, we ask that they contact us so that we can address these problems immediately.
Our commitment to extend health care coverage and pay the full cost of the coverage premiums for our former associates - at their same level of coverage (single, single plus one, or family coverage) - through March 31, 2010, has not changed. Nor has the offer of full-time jobs to our former associates at their previous Hyatt rate of pay through an affiliate of United Service Companies. We encourage any of our former associates affected by the August staffing changes who are interested in these full-time jobs to contact us at (617) 422-5411 or United Service Companies at (617) 737-0050.
