I MIGHT have been flattered pick up the phone and hear Bill Clinton, who recorded a message for Martha Coakley, and Senate candidates, but after a dozen recorded messages, it was getting old. I’d interrupted conversations, lost my train of thought at work, and been awakened from a nap. I expect that, on some level, candidates know that this is rude and wrong. But these calls will continue unless we pass a law against it. Debates can be informative. The calls are just annoying.
