Curled up with porn? Oh, so that explains 'mechanical failures' on commuter rail

RE “SECRET nook, with TV and videos, found at rail yard: Extended breaks by workers cited’’ (Page A1, Dec. 13): Could the time that some employees spend watching videos in a “secret nook’’ at the Somerville commuter train maintenance facility contribute to the frustration we experience on the Framingham-Worcester commuter line, where trains are routinely canceled or late due to “mechanical failures’’?

A wider cost of such behavior is that the rest of us often have trouble getting to work on time or getting home at a reasonable hour.
