STATE TRANSPORTATION Secretary Jeff Mullan deserves a lot of credit for responding so quickly and clearly to the unexpected withdrawal of private developer interest at South Station, and we applaud the Globe for its support of state acquisition of this crucial site (“ Despite financial stresses, state should buy South Station site ,’’ Editorial, Jan. 9).
