IN MICHAEL P. Corcoran’s May 24 article supposedly covering the Brandeis commencement, one wonders where the coverage is. At a ceremony attended by 8,000 students, faculty, and friends, his article is largely about 20 protesters outside the event.
In discussing the objection to inviting Israel’s ambassador to the United States as commencement speaker, the Globe also manages to mention both the Jimmy Carter polemic and the Goldstone report for the United Nations.
As further evidence of biased reporting, there is mention of a letter signed by 140 Brandeis students objecting to Michael Oren’s selection as speaker. There is no mention of the petition signed by more than 5,000 (including more than 500 students) supporting Oren’s invitation.
Your paper continues to attack Israel and Israelis whenever you’re given an opportunity and even when you have to create one.
