AS A former employee of Harvard, I remember how we used to joke that the administration spent mornings in meetings coming up with policies and afternoons in meetings finding ways around the policies.

Senator Scott Brown’s comments point out that Harvard’s latest noble stand on refusing to have ROTC on campus further demonstrates the hypocrisy (“Brown criticizes Harvard leader on ROTC policy,’’ Page A1, Sept. 24).

If Harvard has a problem with the civilian leadership that instituted “don’t ask, don’t tell,’’ then why doesn’t the school refuse all the government research money that pours into the university every year? Why doesn’t Harvard boot out the military personnel attending the various graduate schools?

Harvard talks a good game to appeal to the left while it still accepts millions of dollars a year from taxpayers.
