RE “IF Bruins’ Chara is innocent, blame NHL for violent hits’’ (Editorial, March 11): As a speech pathologist who provides cognitive therapy to brain-injured individuals, my prediction is that fighting in hockey will be banned only after a player punches, and subsequently kills, another player, who has previously sustained a concussion. But by then, it will be too little, too late.
The National Hockey League must be proactive, and stop winking and looking the other way by allowing fighting. This kind of tragedy is preventable.
