TEXTING ALL NIGHT
SOMETHING IS wrong if you don’t get a thousand letters to the editor about teenagers texting during sleep hours (“Connected, exhausted,’’ Page A1, March 27). Even before they slept with their cellphones, teenagers weren’t getting enough sleep; now things are even worse.
One mother’s response to the problem was, “You can tell them all you want that there’s no reason to be on the phone at 2 a.m., but after a certain point, unless you want to sit on top of them, you know it happens.’’
For heaven’s sake, sit on them! That is what parents are for. This behavior is affecting their health and their education.
And you really don’t have to sit on them. Just take the blasted phone away for the night.
