THE ARROGANT conclusion to the May 26 editorial “Dems can’t just scare Granny; voters must face facts as well’’ — “It’s what voters want, even if they don’t know how to say so’’ — reeks of hubris. Kindly permit me to frame my own observation:

I want the billions currently being squandered on foreign wars to be redirected here.

We need to bring our children home, properly care for our injured veterans, shore up our infrastructure, invest in our schools, tend to our infirm, and perhaps even fund Medicare.

We already know how to sacrifice; we don’t need to be lectured.

And it’s Nona, not Granny.
