REPATRIATE AMERICAN corporate earnings abroad at low or no tax to create jobs at home? Robert L. Reynolds must think his readers are stupid (“Want jobs? Reward hiring,’’ Op-ed, Sept. 14). Why are American corporations currently sitting on “nearly $2 trillion in cash’’ on their balance sheets? Because they have earned hundreds of billions of dollars eliminating American jobs in the first place, and moving operations to low-cost countries.

These corporations did not want to hire American workers, buy from American suppliers, work in American real estate, or pay American taxes. But now they want that money home in their American piggy banks tax free, because they are the so-called job creators. Give me a break.
