Tender Hearts ay Care Center in Dorchester has joined small centers across the state in an effort to unionize, coordinated by the American Federation of Teachers-Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. This new union would be unconventional and unprecedented, open to both workers and owner-operators, requiring a bill for its creation. And like anything involving unions these days, it has become caught up in larger forces and general mistrust.
