2 bad the politicians haven't listened to the voter's until now.
Any politician who adds more taxes should be voted out.

too bad the only way we can make our pols control spending is by not sending them the money. they'll have to sit around the table like the rest of us do and figure out how to do more with less.

The Budget only goes up and up! We are going to End this... Carla Howell you are my Hero!!! Please, take this misguided Satire as a significant mark of progress... apparently, the powers that be know what is coming. The End of the Massachusetts Income Tax, YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!

As someone who pays more than average state income tax, I think Wasserman's Vote No on 1 cartoon was right on the money. Two years ago, my wife and I had good salaries, but we also had two kids in school, and my ill father in a nursing home. If the schools in Somerville weren't good enough for our standards of education, and they were thanks to state funding, and the nursing home (at $10,000 a MONTH) weren't covered by Medicaid (half state-funded) when my dad's savings ran out, our savings would have evaporated in no time and our middle class status would have collapsed. We all need that support someday!

It should never be "scary" to face up to the facts - if this proposal passes, it would decimate Massachusetts jobs, cut education, cut services and cut public safety. And for what? Because someone saw a DPW worker sleeping in a truck once? There are other ways to voice your opinion on taxes outside of supporting this extreme measure which is backed by anti-tax crusaders who don't even live in Massachusetts.
This is exactly why I am voting no on question 1, it's not fear, it's that I see the harsh reality passage of this measure would mean for me, my family and our Joecommunity.

This is great! The perfect example of why we cannot afford pass Question 1.
People with lower incomes will not see much of a return if the income tax is abolished - but you can sure bet they'll feel the impact when their property taxes go up and their community services go down!
I'm voting NO on Question 1! Thank you Dan.

Dan Wasserman has been cartooning for the Globe editorial page since 1985.
He has published two collections of drawings, "We've Been Framed" (Faber &
Faber, 1987) and "Paper Cuts" (Ivan R. Dee, 1995). His cartoons are widely
reprinted and are syndicated internationally by Tribune Media Services. He
draws more quickly than he types.
You can't scare me out of voting yes on #1.
