The Dover Demon
In April 1977, over a two-day span, three teenagers caught glimpses of an odd creature in Dover, Mass. One of them, Bill Bartlett, who got within 15 feet of the "Dover Demon," as it later came to be known, made a drawing (above) showing a humanoid figure with large eyes and tendril-like fingers. Two years ago, Bartlett told a Globe writer that he stands by his story.
Some cryptozoologists accept that the Dover Demon is a "classic cryptid," according to a Wikipedia entry on the DD.
Why do I mention the DD now? I'm going to Dover some time next month for a visit, and I'm hoping to catch a glimpse.
