No, the repeated paragraphs in the David Foster Wallace item were not intended as some kind of postmodern homage, as one reader suggested (giving me too much benefit of the doubt). I made a mistake with the blogging software, then got on an Amtrak train, which then got delayed. The problem is fixed and blogging will resume shortly.
