Like a lot of articles on urban planning by young people, this one is marred by the romanticization of urban apartment-style living and an under-appreciation of the freedom cars bring. But then it opens up into a useful comparison of two far-flung suburbs of DC. One sounds like a nightmare; the other you just might want to live in. The inevitable-in-retrospect title: "A Tale of Two Exurbs."
