What Is Poha?

Poha, also known as "beaten rice," is rice that has been flattened into flakes, rather like rolled oats, and it absorbs water much faster than whole rice. The thickness of the flakes varies, and both thick and thin flakes (which can look very similar to the untrained eye) are typically available at Indian grocery stores.
