Five-Minute Fig Dessert

Figs served with orange slices and peppered honey make an elegant dessert that doesn’t taste like it only takes a few minutes to prepare. Here’s what to do: In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup of honey, ¾ teaspoon of very finely ground pepper, and 1½ teaspoons of fresh lime juice. With a sharp, thin-bladed knife, cut the ends from the oranges and trim away all the peel and white pith. Cut the oranges crosswise into ½-inch-thick slices and arrange them on a serving platter. Cut the figs into lengthwise quarters and arrange them on the oranges. Drizzle the figs and oranges with the honey mixture and serve at once.
