When it comes to fall knits, it's time to turn down the volume. As seen here around town, oversized is out and body-conscious is in. Many women thought last year's styles looked like maternity wear, jokes Waheeda Ali-Salaam, designer/owner of Boston's chic OKW boutique. The new trend is to treat knits like fabric, she says. Ali-Salaam uses pin tucks and embroidery to create both shaping and surface interest, such as on a bell-sleeved turtleneck sweater with matching skirt. And wrap dresses look good on every body type, she adds. Nice that they're not just for the knitty bitty.
