Designers are taking green chic to heart this season, featuring lush garden prints on silhouettes recycled from the past. “The styles are very vintage-inspired and retro,” says Hilarie Holt, a manager of the floral fashion-filled Pinkyotto boutique on Newbury Street. “It’s not only the flowy ’70s, but also the 1950s Laura Ashley look, ’60s mod, and a tailored 1940s feel.” Holt hears many moms reminiscing with their daughters, saying, “I used to wear something identical to this. I wish I kept it!” As seen here around town, flowered prints in all shapes and sizes are perennial summer favorites.
