Growing on me
Floral accents perk up shoulders, handbags, and more.
Accessories are taking women down the garden path this summer. Fabric flowers make every outfit look special, says Kim Pham, owner of the colorful Kim’s Fashion Design boutique in Copley Place. The expert seamstress turns silk into luscious blooms on evening bags, corsages, and hair ornaments. And her inexpensive taffeta ribbons with adjustable petals can be worn as headbands, neckpieces, belts, or bracelets. Also popular this season are pretty handbags with appliqued blossoms and groupings of vintage floral brooches worn at the shoulder or waist. As seen here around town, the looks are quite cultivated.
