Make it strappy
Women’s shoes have a new edge for fall.
Plain pumps, step aside. It’s time to get strap happy. There’s so much to choose from, including crisscross, diagonal, and multi-strap configurations of varying widths, says Jessamy Kilcollins, store manager of John Fluevog Shoes on Newbury Street. And they don’t just look cool, she notes, but can also be adjusted to accommodate a wide or narrow foot. Kilcollins’s favorites are the round-toe silhouettes with contrast stitching and a 1920s vibe. “Try a bright color,” she adds. As seen here around town, the trend is a shoe-in at local events.
