One weekday morning, I was shopping at my favorite store, Trader Joe’s. But when I got to the checkout, I found that I didn’t have enough money, and as far as my ATM card went, I was over budget. I asked the clerk to cancel my order and had moved my cart to one side when the clerk said, “Wait. The lady behind you is paying for the groceries.” There I stood, crying, and the kind customer said, “I want you to have a nice day, and someday you will do the same for someone else.” To top it off, the manager gave us each a bouquet. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

A Quack-Up I was walking in the Public Garden with my friend’s 4-year-old. “Look at the ducks in the water,” I said to her. Looking at me as if I were the stupidest person in the world, she replied, “That’s an Aflac!”
