One of the most prominent artists of the Black Arts Movement and founder of the African American Master Artist-in-Residence Program at Northeastern University, Dana Chandler retired from his long professorship at Simmons College a few years ago. He now lives in Gallup, N.M., where his youngest son, Dana James, is making his own art and studying Native American history.
