Best Boston Globe photos of 2009

You could see from the distance when the marathoners came around on Boylston Street. They were so damn close, these two women. They were just neck and neck. You watched, you watched, you watched. All of a sudden you cant really think too much, youre just recording it almost like a video and boom. The woman just collapsed. This was just lucky for me that they appeared at that moment inside my frame. Sometimes I keep both eyes open, and Im seeing with a second eye that something else is happening; if youre only looking through a tube of glass its hard to actually get to see a whole field.
