Good news and gevalt
So, fat-acceptance bloggers Kate Harding of Shapely Prose and The Rotund have gotten a book deal! There's a special kind of happy you get for people who get something good that they deserve, shortly after you, too, have gotten the same thing and therefore you KNOW how incredible it feels. And I am having that happy now in a big, big way. These ladies deserve it! Although I am sitting here in the coffee shop going "mwa-ha-ha" at Kate's belief that she'll be blogging MORE now that she's got the deal. (Then again, maybe she knows what she's talking about. I should be working on the religion chapter of my book right now, but instead I'm blogging. Damn these coffee shops with their wireless internet access!)
That's the good news. The "gevalt" is much smaller ... I didn't bring my purse to the coffee shop, just my laptop carrier. And when I'm distracted and not carrying my usual stuff, I can make stupid errors. Like leaving my wallet out on the table when I went to go move my car just now. Happily, it was there when I came back, but jeepers. Yesterday I almost get hit by a car, today I almost lose my wallet. Miss Conduct will not be operating heavy machinery for the next few days, I think. Maybe I'll just send Milo off to stay with friends and swathe myself in bubble wrap and not leave the house until Mr. Improbable comes back into town.
