Happy blogiversary to me!

One year ago, I started this blog. It's been a terrific ride, and I think it got a lot better once I got comments capacity. Writing the way I (and Mr. Improbable) do it is not a solitary endeavor, but is about creating a community. Once I started being able to hear your voices it got even more fun.

In the past few weeks I've gotten several new readers, if the tracking software is to be believed. So here are a few of my favorite posts from months past (there's also some on the right-hand sidebar), for those of you who have only recently joined the program. And welcome!

My graph on the forgiveness/forgetfulness quotients of various faux pas.

Boston etiquette v. Aussie etiquette
.

Milo's Gotcha Day.

Etiquette as nonverbal communication.

Meeting Jane Goodall (and experiencing her form of nonverbal communication!).

The Festivus Airing of Grievances (which will be interactive in 2008!).

Parasocial relationships. (What are those? Read and find out.)

What I want Valentine's Day to be. Folks, I am SERIOUS about this one and I want to enlist your help in 2009 to change this holiday that everyone hates, mmkay?

Five products that have made my life better.

The "ma'am" wars. (Though I haven't watched the season finale yet, I am currently of the opinion that calling women "sir" is now the least of "Battlestar Galactica's" problems. Exactly how hard did Tigh punch Adama in the head, anyway? Because from how the Old Man's behaving, I think some of his judgment circuits must have gotten knocked out of commission. Can Helo please just be in charge of everything, as the only sane person on the show? And can "I had a vision" please, please stop being considered a legitimate argument? Between the alcohol abuse and the religious wackjobbery, I'm starting to think that Augusten Burroughs has taken over as BSG's lead writer.)

Bridechillas!

Being fat in public, parts I, II, and III.

Cancer rants I, II, and III.

Thank you again to all of you who have helped make this blog what it is. With any luck it will be bigger and better in 2008-09! If you have a blog of your own, please consider putting me on your blogroll or posting about my blogiversary. If you don't, perhaps you could e-mail your friends about what I've got going on here. The more readers, contributors, and commenters I get, the better this blog will be. I've got big hopes and plans for the coming year!

UPDATE: Well, I don't know how many new readers I'm getting, but I've certainly gotten a truckload of new spammers this weekend. So from now on, once a blog entry is no longer on the main page, I'm going to close the comments section for it. (I'm mentioning this here in case any of you are trying to comment on the posts listed above.)
