My marital SAT score
![]() | 38 As a 1930s wife, I am |
I suppose that's no surprise to anyone. Courtesy of every blog everywhere. I got merit points for being well-groomed, fun to be around, a good cook, religious, and permissive about my husband's leisure activities; demerits for drinking, swearing, gossiping, flirting (all part of that "fun to be around" business, really), and not wanting children.
I liked this item:
Often comments on husband's strength and masculinity.
They don't specify the nature of the comments ...
I took the test for/as Mr. Improbable, and here is HIS score:

How about that! I was thinking he wouldn't do very well because I checked a lot of demerit points for him on neatness of dress and tidiness around the house. But I suppose his even temper and affectionate and hardworking nature carried the day.
Here are two he missed points on:
Kisses wife just after her make-up has been applied.Calls "Where is..?" without first hunting the object. (Some things between the sexes never change, apparently. My usual response to this is a major contributor to the swearing mentioned above.)
He also missed points on this one:
Hangs ties or clothes on doorknobs.
... despite its being, in my eyes, a distinct improvement on throwing them on the floor, which is what he used to do.
Comments open if you feel the need to opine. (We're still traveling so moderation will be slow.)

Gasp! I scored "15." I'm not sure whether I feel a case of the vapors coming on or deliciously wicked.
I got -15 (Very poor - failure), which I take as a point of pride. ;)
