Be the 1,000th commenter and win an autographed book!

Posted by Robin Abrahams December 22, 2008 07:07 PM

I'm currently up to 993 published comments on my blog. Let's break 1,000 by Christmas! If you're the thousandth commenter on this blog, I will send you an autographed copy of my book, "Mind Over Manners," when it is released in spring 2009.

As always, the usual rules apply: no (serious) profanity and no bigotry. Also, no anti-trivialization fascism on the "Festivus" thread, and no ditto-ing on any of the threads just to get a comment up there.

Talk to me!

UPDATE: We have a winner! Actually, we have two. See, here's the thing: Guy was the 1,000th commenter, and Guy wrote:

We in the middle of a recession and this is all you can come up with?

Now I thought that was pretty funny. But I'd specifically said not to do anti-trivialization fascism. So even though this was a joke, I wasn't sure if it should qualify. It's exactly these kinds of dilemmas that made grading such a bugbear during this time of year, back when I was teaching.

The 1,001st commenter was prof dumbledore, who wrote:

My grievance is when someone pulls up to the light in the left turn only lane only to go straight, cutting you off. I really want to do something nasty to them, but I get them back in my own way, I took a sign language so I can say things to them and they dont know what Im saying

So I shall send books to BOTH Guy and prof dumbledore. Would that all my erstwhile grading dilemmas had been so easy to solve. Of course, if I had been grading them, both Guy and prof dumbledore would have disqualified due to poor grammar, syntax, and/or punctuation.

Congratulations, gentlemen, and Happy Festivus!
