Oh, holy ...
... something other than "night," I tell you what.
Sometimes I get asked if I invent the questions for my column myself, to which my reply is always, "I couldn't make that stuff up." It's true. There's a reason I don't write fiction.
Here's another one I couldn't make up--go to Slate's Dear Prudence, and read the first question.

Sometimes you just want to grab people by the lapels and scream, "What the hell are you thinking?!"
I agree with Prudence's advice on this, obviously. Don't agree with her advice on the second question, and I think she's egregiously sexist on the third. But that first one--I wonder if her jaw dropped as far when she first read it as mine did.
