Miss Conduct on "The Emily Rooney Show" today
I'll be on WGBH radio today, 89.7, from about 12:30 to 1pm, discussing "Being Yourself at Work" with Emily Rooney. Whether it's piercings or pictures of your kids, how do you know what's TMI and what isn't at the office? We spend most of our waking hours at work, how do you walk the line between being professional and being yourself? And what should you do when someone else's professional mask begins to slip? Possible topics include:
- When the body betrays--dealing with physical ailments in the workplace (everything from embarrassing noises to cancer);
- Talking about fundraisers and other extracurricular activities;
- Appropriate cubicle decor;
- Responding to nosy colleagues;
- What to do when a coworker has a run in her stocking, an unzipped fly, etc.
If you've got questions on any of these topics, e-mail the show or call in at 877-301-8970. I'll post the segment later for those who miss the live show.
