I blog at Already Pretty once a month, and for August I revisited my recent musings on modesty and a column about post-Labor-Day whites, as well as a story about my ratty iPhone case ... that often gets compliments.

Already Pretty also has a great post about pregnancy and body image, boundaries (yes, belly-petting!), and related issues--including being congratulated on your pregnancy when you aren't.

Besides the fact that we're in the middle of the high holy days, which are really early this year, the Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony is also really early, and in fact is next week. Thursday. Tickets are sold out, but the show will be webcast live, including on Boston.com! So back-to-school feels like quite a rush, with big events that usually get spread through September and October out all clustered at the beginning.

Which means October is going to feel like one big afterparty this year, which will be terrific.

What are you most looking forward to this fall? Football? Having the kids back in school? Going back to school yourself? Pumpkin lattes? Halloween? Thanksgiving? The autumn foliage? Cooler weather? The start of the arts season?
