Leonard H. Rubin
Leonard H. Rubin, proprietor of a kosher catering service, died Saturday at North Shore Medical Center-Salem Hospital in Salem. He was 91 and lived in Delray Beach, Fla., and had previously lived in Framingham, Swampscott, and Newton.

For 60 years, Mr. Rubin ran Rubin's Kosher Catering Service of New England, based in Boston, which became the primary provider for religious and cultural events in the region, his family said. Mr. Rubin was dedicated to his faith and enjoyed contributing to important milestones in Jewish life, they said.

"When I moved to the North Shore, his reputation had preceded me," said his daughter, Donna Kagan of Marblehead. "Half of the people I met had used him for weddings or bar mitzvahs. I actually came to be known through him."

Mr. Rubin was born in Boston. A graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, he studied accounting at Bentley College.

Mr. Rubin retired at 83, but continued to attend functions with his daughter, an events planner on the North Shore. When he was not helpingto set tables or perfect arrangements, he enjoyed watching organizers prepare for events.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Rubin leaves another daughter, Phyllis Cohen of Framingham and Mashpee; a son, Melvin of Framingham; two sisters, Diana Sturman of Portland, Maine, and Doris Cohen of Stoughton; six grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.

Services have been held.

Raymond Boshco
Raymond C. Boshco, longtime owner and operator of a family machinery company, died Wednesday at his Peabody home of heart failure. He was 89.

Mr. Boshco was born in Brookline and grew up in Medford. He graduated with a degree in economics from Amherst College in 1939. While at Amherst, he was on the varsity swim team and a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. He also performed on his accordion locally to help pay for tuition expenses.

After college, Mr. Boshco joined the US Navy and was based in Virginia with the USS Portsmouth for two years. He eventually moved back to Massachusetts and started working at his family business, Boshco Inc., in North Billerica, which services heavy-duty woodworking machinery. The company is now operated by two of Mr. Boscho's sons.

His family said Mr. Boshco enjoyed summers on Cape Ann, boating, fishing, and cruising down the Annisquam River. He was a gifted pianist and loved playing with friends in a Dixieland jazz band.

Mr. Boshco leaves three sons, Peter of Cambridge, Randall of Chelmsford, and Nicholas of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two daughters, Melissa of Brookline and Valley Via of Seattle; and 10 grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service.
