Edward E. Baccari
Edward E. Baccari, an educator and lifelong resident of Quincy, died May 17 of congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease at Quincy Medical Center. He was 80.

After graduating from Quincy High School, Mr. Baccari joined the Navy. When he returned, he got his undergraduate degree from Boston University and, in 1952, began working as a teacher at Snug Harbor Community Elementary School in Quincy.

"That was his life. It brought him much happiness," said his wife of 53 years, Lorraine (Karam).

In addition to his wife and grandchildren, Mr. Baccari leaves two daughters, Anne of Southampton, Pa., and Linda Burns of Norwell; and two sisters, Rita Cuneo of Braintree and Elba DelGrosso of Scituate. Services have been held.

John A. Vozzella Sr.
John A. Vozzella Sr., a retired engineer and lifelong Roslindale resident, died last Sunday at Brigham and Women's Hospital of cancer. He was 80.

Mr. Vozzella attended English High School and got his degree in engineering from Northeastern University in 1944 before joining the Navy. After he returned home, he began his career with the Boston Public Works Department.

After retiring in 1989, Mr. Vozzella worked full time at two family businesses: Wellsmere Monumental Works and Vozzella Design Group. With his wife of more than 51 years, Jeanne (George), Mr. Vozzella liked to travel.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Vozzella leaves two sons, Joseph of West Roxbury and John Jr. of Roslindale; and a sister, Marie Grassia of Falmouth.

Services were held.
