Edward Luc Blin
Edward Luc Blin, a community volunteer, died at his Brookline home June 4 of undetermined causes. He was 70.
Mr. Blin, who was born in Paris, attended schools in France and New York. Before college, he served in the US Army and was stationed in Orleans, France. He graduated from Fordham University in the 1960s.

His family said Mr. Blin spent much of his adult life in Morristown, N.J., moving to the Boston area in 1988. He volunteered for the soup kitchen operated by First Unitarian Society in Newton and Myrtle Baptist Church. He also was involved in "Stand High/Stand United," a youth-enrichment program, taking participants on such outings as trips to the White Mountains.
In addition to skiing, hiking, and tennis, Mr. Blin enjoyed traveling. He spent time on a kibbutz in Israel in the early 1960s and worked on the archeological dig at the Masada in Israel, his family said.
Mr. Blin leaves two sons, David Edward of Colchester, Vt., and Peter Alexander of Morristown; one brother, Roger of Paris; and two grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm July 12 in First Unitarian Society in Newton.![]()
