Robert T. Graf
Robert T. Graf, a Revere firefighter, died of heart failure Aug. 7 while vacationing in Sedona, Ariz. He was 45 and a longtime Revere resident.
Mr. Graf was born in Lynn and raised in Revere.
He graduated from Dominic Savio Preparatory High School in East Boston and attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Salem State College, where he received a business degree.
He worked as a Revere firefighter and a crew chief at American Airlines, both for 22 years.
Revere Fire Captain Gene 8Doherty said Mr. Graf was always smiling.
"He was a great firefighter and loved his job," Doherty said.
Mr. Graf enjoyed traveling, skiing, and hiking, according to his wife, Shelley (Graddock).
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Robbie of Revere; two daughters, Britni and Nicole of Phoenix; and two brothers, Stephen of Revere and Kevin of Wilmington.
A service has been held.
Carol Kodis
Carol Kodis --president of Kodis Associates, an interior design firm in Brookline -- died of cancer July 7.
She was 57.
Ms. Kodis was born in Boston and raised in Brookline.
She graduated from Brookline High School and Northwestern University.
She worked at several local 8design firms before founding Kodis Associates in 1983.
Ms. Kodis helped establish the interior design department at the former Boston Architectural Center, now the Boston Architectural College, where she taught for five years.
Ms. Kodis was also an original member of the advisory board of the Newbury College interior design program.
In her spare time, Ms. Kodis enjoyed skiing, tennis, and swing dancing, her family said.
She was a dedicated Red Sox fan and loved gardening and traveling to Maine.
Ms. Kodis leaves her husband, Yoke Wong of Newton; her father, Robert of Brookline; and two 8sisters, Harriet of Norton, and Marsha of Randolph.
