Angela Regina Pirrone, a sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Tuesday at the St. Anne Villa in Morris Township, N.J. She was 88.

Sister Pirrone was born in Boston and attended Roxbury Memorial High School. She entered the Sisters of Charity in 1943 and attended the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J., graduating in 1965 with a degree in education.

Sister Pirrone focused on educational ministry. Though she spent most of her service in New Jersey, she served at St. John's in Roxbury from 1956 to 1963 and returned to Massachusetts in 1990 to live at Catherine Mary McHale Center in Newton. In 2003, she retired to St. Anne Villa.

A Mass was said yesterday in New Jersey.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. today in Holy Family Cemetery in Morris Township.
