Hanne Hiob, 86; actress, Bertolt Brecht's daughter
Ms. Hiob - the daughter of Brecht and his first wife, opera singer Marianne Zoff - died Tuesday in Munich, the Berlin office that represents Brecht’s descendants said. It provided no other information, including the cause of death.
Ms. Hiob grew up with her mother and trained as a dancer and actress, later performing at theaters in West and East Germany, in Austria, and in Switzerland.
Among other parts, she played the title roles in her father’s plays “Saint Joan of the Stockyards’’ and “Carrar’s Rifles.’’
Ms. Hiob retired from the theater in 1976.
