Larry Thornton; dived into underwater quests with passion
At the age of 65, while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Larry Thornton, a salvage diver, historian, and treasure hunter, was still diving year-round. Last year, he helped raise a 300-foot sunken barge at Quincy Shipyard and worked 60 feet underwater installing a water pipeline to Georges Island in Boston Harbor. (Full article: 1021 words)
