Scott Creelman; sports star became executive at Spalding
Scott Creelman’s leadership abilities were apparent early on. At Melrose High School, his sports exploits included intercepting a pass and running 88 yards for a touchdown in a football game and striking out 19 batters in a one-hit baseball victory. He was captain of his Dartmouth College football team, set strikeout records for the Ivy League school, and a few years later started working with the Spalding sporting goods company, rising to become president. Mr. Creelman died Sept. 21 in his Deerfield home.
