Having succeeded in business by cofounding the companies Meditech and CRES Development, Morton E. Ruderman decided to give back to the community, creating the Ruderman Family Foundation, funding scholarships, and endowing a chair in Jewish studies at Northeastern University, his alma mater. His wife, Marcia Ruderman, said he would like to be remembered by those who knew, loved, and were inspired by him, and the many others he helped who never met him, “as a man who helped people.’’ Mr. Ruderman died Oct. 12.
