Kyle Piazza, math teacher, coach dedicated to students
When Kyle Piazza finished his master’s in education last year, he was exactly where he wanted to be: coaching football and track at Braintree High School and teaching math, a subject he had loved since childhood. Three months later, he was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma. This fall, six weeks before he died at 28, Mr. Piazza led a team that raised more than $25,000 for the annual Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston, rising from his wheelchair to walk across the finish line.
