Edward O’Flaherty, Jesuit leader, college president
The Rev. Edward M. O’Flaherty, former provincial of the Jesuit Province of New England and former president of the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, “wore his authority very lightly,’’ said a friend. The Rev. O’Flaherty also formerly served as rector of the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif., and as a university trustee at Boston College. “When you talked with Ed, you knew you were speaking with a man of immense learning,’’ said the Rev. David Michael.
