Near the former village of Leupeung in Indonesia's Aceh province, these men endured the long and dusty ride on the back of a truck that picked them up from a shattered roadside near what was their former home, Leupeung. The old man in the middle in named Usman Umar -- he lost seven member of his immediate family (his wife and six children). He has two remaining children. The bridge to Leupeung was washed away by the December 26 tsunami, as was the village of 12,000 residents. Only about 800 people from the village survived, and many of them return to the rubble to sleep at night even though their homes no longer stand.
