James Guilford is an artist and former barber. He cut the hair of Jackie Robinson and Count Basie, as well as many others when they visited Boston. He was a fixture on the jazz scene as well. He was good friends with many Boston jazz club owners. He is photographed in Wally's Cafe, a South End jazz club, in 2005.
