John Gillis of Natick was among those who wrote Letters to the Editor on the issue in today's Globe. "I HAVE a question for our Massachusetts lawmakers: How long do you think it will be before some gay partners, behind a smokescreen of antidiscrimination law, sue the Catholic Church for refusing to ``marry" them, ultimately forcing the church to cease performing marriages in the state? Ask the folks who used to handle adoptions at Catholic Charities if this scenario is farfetched, and then go vote your conscience in the assembly today," Gillis wrote.
