Yes, that was Franklin native Peter Laviolette holding the Stanley Cup as the parade rolled through town. Laviolette is the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, who won the NHL's prized trophy in 2005-2006. A former coach for the Providence Bruins -- the top minor-league affiliate of the NHL's Boston Bruins -- Laviolette is now considered one of the top, young coaches in hockey after leading his team to the NHL championship.
