Tank-top entrepreneur

A local woman is making a splash with her designer tank tops, which she says are no longer just for summer.

Gail Schneider is convincing women around the state that tank tops can be worn year-round. She sells her designs out of the basement of her Newton home, the Globe reports today.

After living in Israel, where women needed sleeveless shirts all the time, Schneider has had to make the adjustment to a much cooler climate. Now, she says, she is "getting used to four seasons."
