Small road, big trouble

WAYLAND

Sycamore Road in Wayland, a residential street near the Framingham line, is scenic and quaint.

In other words, wonderful until you try to drive on it. The private, quarter-mile-long dirt road has such deep pits and potholes that some residents fear it's become a public safety hazard.

But getting it paved isn't as easy as it sounds, and could cost the neighborhood a mind-boggling $1 million...
