Health care fraud convictions

WESTBOROUGH

A Westborough man and three Westborough companies that he owned have pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud charges, federal officials announced.

James Taylor, 67, along with Vejay Oxygen Inc., West Suburban Medical Rental Inc., and Westborough Home Health Inc. pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Patti Saris.

U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan and an official from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced the conviction yesterday.

Prosecutors say that Taylor and the companies overbilled Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts for respiratory home care equipment.
